Welcome!
If you're thinking about subscribing to The BOLO Insider, I appreciate your interest. But before you join, let me walk you through exactly what you can expect from this newsletter.
So what's a BOLO anyway?
BOLO = Be on the lookout
And that's exactly what this newsletter is about.
I spend a lot of time tracking what's getting discontinued and this newsletter is where I document what I find.
What You'll Actually Get
Discontinuation announcements - When I find out a company has pulled something from production, you’ll know about it.
My sourcing strategies - Where I'm looking and how I'm doing it. The tactics I use to find discontinued products.
Product breakdowns - I'll walk through why certain discontinued items are worth your time and others aren't.
Q&A sessions - You have questions about sourcing, strategy, or specific products? Send them my way and I'll provide answers.
BOLOs - The discontinued items I'm actively looking for when I'm out sourcing.
Setting Clear Expectations
Let me be clear about something: this is not a leads list. I'm not running a cook group where I predict prices or tell you exactly what to purchase. I'm not here to promise easy profits or guaranteed returns.
What I am here to do is provide information and data that allows you to make the best buying decisions for your own business.
There will be some free content but the majority of newsletters will be paid.
Who is this for?
eBay, Amazon, Walmart, and Mercari sellers based in the US.
This approach works whether you're new to reselling or you've been in the game for years.
For newcomers, discontinued product hunting can be an excellent starting point and you can start small by sourcing locally.
For experienced sellers, this adds another niche to your toolkit. The info I share can complement your existing sourcing methods and help you spot opportunities others miss.
Why the Limit?
This information is sensitive. When I tell you that a company stopped making a popular product and there's still inventory sitting in grocery stores across the country, that's valuable data. The more people who have it, the less valuable it becomes.
That's why I'm limiting this at 100 paid subscribers at $25/month.
(Due to Substack's platform limitations that prevent closing paid subscriptions, I'll be implementing a significant price increase when we reach 100 subscribers to preserve the exclusive nature of this newsletter. There is no limit for free subscriptions.)
What This Means for You
If you're someone who understands that discontinued products can be goldmines and who's willing to put in the work - we might be a good fit.
I can't promise you'll make money on every tip I share. I can't predict which discontinued products will spike in price or when. What I can promise is transparency about my process, real information as I find it, and strategies that have worked for me over years of doing this.
One final reminder - if you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm more than happy to provide answers and help however I can.
If this sounds like something that would help your business, then I'd love to have you join.
